Am I being a spoilt brat?

OH promised this morning to take me and the kids out for lunch this afternoon to celebrate the house going through. Then he says actually no what's the point it's a waste of money let's just put it in the savings. Baring in mind miller and carter lunch menu is just over a £10!!

Now he's gone out with the kids to the park and I'm at home starving in a huff as I was looking forward to my steak and calamari.

He's told me to grow up and stop being a spoilt brat and all I can think about is steak and peppercorn sauce Blush

He sounds like a tosser. If I were you I would take the children out to lunch and leave him to sit stingily at home!

CuriousaboutSamphire · 30/07/2020 14:25

Oooh! I hate that! It's divorce worthy!

As is calling you a spiled brat for being pissed of at him for reneging on a promise.

He is a total twat! And a miser. And a killjoy. And needs to mind his manners or he will find himself being upset as people begin to treat him as he treats them!

katy1213 · 30/07/2020 14:29

Go and treat yourself to a nice steak lunch on your own.

User50000999788887876655 · 30/07/2020 14:30

Go out by yourself, take a book, magazine whatever and just enjoy an hour to yourself! I would be really annoyed also.

misshangry · 30/07/2020 14:32

I said to him if you didn't promise me I wouldn't be bothered but Jesus Christ don't promise me then back out.

I can't even get a table anywhere now I was lucky to get that one. Looks like I will have to cook. I will take my mum tomorrow instead Wink

Yep, go and have a steak lunch on your own in peace.

Shoxfordian · 30/07/2020 14:32

Take yourself out for lunch without him

EatsShootsAndRuns · 30/07/2020 14:32

Next birthday, really big up his present and then on the day tell him you've decided to put the money into savings instead.

When he doesn't like it, tell him he's a spoilt brat.

babycakes1010 · 30/07/2020 14:34

Why are you having to cook? He can do it!

hellsbellsmelons · 30/07/2020 14:37

Tell him to bloody cook.
And tell you want steak and calamari - exactly how they make it at Miller and Carter.
CF he is!
Enjoy it with your DM tomorrow.

I'm sorry but I had to laugh when reading this. 🤣 I'm the same and believe it's a typical woman thing. Feel sorry for our hubby's haha.

waitingforadulthood · 30/07/2020 16:06

He's a selfish prick and a miser to boot! What's more, Restaurants are struggling with limited capacity having lost a lot over the last few months- booking and cancelling at short notice, well , it's morally a shitty thing to do IMO. They need the business.

Kelsoooo · 30/07/2020 16:14

@lucky2be

You feel sorry for your "hubby" because you're disappointed when he backs out of a promise?

Jesus Christ.
