Kicking in stomach / not pregnant / Crohn's disease

Hi all, AIBU to feel concerned about this?

I'm NOT pregnant. 100% no chance at all.

I'm being investigated to crohns at the moment and I'm due to have a colonoscopy next week Confused

All day I've been having funny movements in my stomach. They actually feel like a baby kicking. Quite high up. A couple of inches below my bra line I'd say. I'm quite big, a size 18.

They aren't painful but they are very noticeable.

I've looked at a diagram of the bowel and they are at the horizontal area at the top of the bowel.

Has anyone experienced these before? What could they be?

I've already had an MRI which showed fibroids, gallstones, and something in my bowel they want to do a biopsy on.

Anyone experienced similar?

I had something similar to this last month, all I came up with from Dr google was it was my heart beat. Lasted around a week and certain times of the day it was really noticeable. I had decided if it continued for one more day i would call the doctor but then it went. Felt just like a baby kicking, I could even see my belly moving (which made me doubt my actual baby kicks)

It might be your duodenom (sp.) and you might be getting an ulcer or at least ulcerations. Are you having stomach pains? It's possible you're having a certain amount of reflux. If you are a little on the large side, it could be related to your diet.

Yes I do get reflux quite badly, I'm awake with it at the moment actually! Only another few days and hopefully the consultant will advise me

My DD has Crohns and this sounds like one of her symptoms.

Am supposed to be undergoing chron’s testing as have had repeated colitis flare ups without any colonoscopy finding ulcers or pathogens (ie don’t have diagnosed chrons but it is a symptom of chron’s )

Could it be trapped wind? Trapped wind is so painful & if you have inflamed bowel it can become trapped. Are you still able to pass wind? Could you possibly have a portion of inflamed bowel & this is causing the pains?

Never having had a baby don’t know what kicks feel like...

Hope you feel better soon. I have found good relief with a simple Buscopan forte for random flare ups

Yeah I get this with crohns regularly, mine comes from the small bowel though as I no longer have my large. Think it’s just wind tbh

Thankyou for some more answers. My reflux was particularly bad last night so I was up pretty late. If it's a crohns symptom then at least I'd know. But they can't treat it can they!

They can treat the symptoms, but there isn’t a cure no. If it is crohns it will take a while to find the right treatment that works for you, everyone who has it is different. For me it’s azathioprine tablets and amgevita injections for the rest of my life, and a permanent stoma. For others, a controlled diet apparently works for some, different medications, different surgeries. They won’t just leave you suffering. Hope it’s not a form of IBD you have, but if it is, you’ll adapt.
