I've paid for next week's group holiday but no one has paid their contribution!

Weird situation. Going on UK holiday with a friend, her two friends and our 5 children. I agreed to pay for the whole thing on a spare credit card on the basis that they'd BACS me their contribution but I've not received a dime. I paid 5 weeks ago and we leave next Monday.

What's the standard protocol on this? I don't want to get into a situation where I have to chase them for money after the holiday, when they'd obviously be less inclined to pay or where I may get dribs and drabs over an extended period. Given the number of people coming it's obviously cost quite a bit.

Hadn't she named them all a name starting with A, B, C etc and then the CF and her husband obviously ended up being called some MNism. I've been racking my brains to try and think of some details to search for but it was a while ago and might even have been in chat and deleted after 30 days

Errrr no. Why should OP apologise for asking for her money?

Possible that the friend's of friends have paid the friend maybe?
Assuming the op has had some contact with them by now, but I would find out what is doable regarding cancelling first.
Then phone them all but back that up with text outlining bank details, time limit etc in a text so I had a paper trail

@Waferbiscuit just to add you could say you need to pay by Saturday (or whenever) else you get interest on the card (unless you don't have interest and already told them that) so you need the money ASAP or will need them to pay the interest too.

I did update the situation quite recently on someone else’s thread . I don’t want to take over this thread but it much later transpired that Carol was/is being financially abused .

Oh and I agree that Mexican House Thief was the best holiday thread ever !

To me, and apologies, but there have been so many mad threads on here that you really would have to scratch your head and think WTF?

The Mexican House theif was not real.
