Went to the zoo today with 3 kids. We all took masks and hand gel. They are diving the day into 2 sessions. But people weren't social distancing at all when it came to the different animal houses. I had to keep dodging out of the way of everyone.

I'm now feeling totally paranoid and like I was a total idiot for even thinking it was ok to go.

Flowers I am finding this hard too (looking at you, everyone in B&Q last Saturday).

I don’t think it’s going to get better, only worse. Many have stopped social distancing altogether as of the virus has gone or they are somehow immune to it.

I'm just finding it increasingly impossible to work out what is safe to do or not. What's taking a risk or not? It's really hard. We've been so strict about everything but now it feels like I'm getting to relaxed, or am I just doing normal things? It's a bit of a head fuck.

We had this at the zoo too. The zoo had done a brilliant job, but people were just ignoring. At the penguins, you were told to go down a few at a time. Yellow line to stand behind, so no glass touching. Stand on a socially spot on the floor. A family came and stood right next to us, not on the spot, over the yellow line, telling their child to tap the glass. I took my DC and left. Ridiculous that people can’t follow simple instructions.

There no is such thing as absolutely safe. We make decisions about relative risk all the time about all sorts of things. The low prevalence means you can be less worried than previously.

I went to our local zoo 3 weeks ago, it was brilliant, felt like there wasnt too many people there, at stalls/ toilet queues etc you could see the alcohol gels being used regularly around the zoo, people were distancing and actively avoiding each other. it felt safe.

I went again last week and it was a totally different story, it felt almost like a normal day, totally packed, not much distancing going on, even in queues, especially not around the animals.
Although we are following guidelines and being as safe as we can etc, I'm not too worried about going out and stuff, but I dont think we will be going back to the zoo for a while
