To be happy to only lose 1lb (or less) a month (and have a target weight above ideal BMI)

On the 11th of May I restarted doing some sort of exercise after a bit of a hiatus (pregnancy and baby related). I remember around those dates I tri d on the same leggings I'm wearing at the moment and looked horrible as well as uncomfortable (something I thought was impossible with leggings!) Anywho fast forward husband went back to work so had to move to an "at home" training program. I haven't lost much weight (about 2lbs/1kg since I started tracking) but have lost more than one dress size as well as more than a few inches (close to ten around thighs, 6-7 chest, 5 around waist...) My BMI is still stagnant as obviously 1kg doesn't make much of a difference (and it has be still as overweight but have visible muscle tone) . I'm happy with my size although I'd like to go one down to be 6-8 which is my happy place. I'm sure at this pace it's a matter of half a stone or so. That will still classify me as overweight (BMI 25.3) . I'm very happy and very much shocked as I was always incredulous of people losing inches not pounds but it goes to show that it does happen!

What is your question?

Fressia123 · 28/07/2020 08:11

Is it so unreasonable to be happy with such a small weight loss while also remaining outside of a "healthy" BMI range.

You posted pictures of yourself in the other thread.

You clearly have a great figure. You are happy with how you look , so I am not really sure what you are asking here?

Why would it be unreasonable? You know you have a great figure, with muscle definition. How can that be unreasonable?

I remember these pictures and Fressia's posts. I totally agree.

I don't see what the question really is here other than to start another 30 page thread where people berate the OP and tell her she has a perfectly fine figure and she's trolling the board.

Muscle weighs more than fat. It's therefore not a surprise. I'm really confused as to your point

No it doesn't. A pound of muscle is the same weight as a pound of fat. I think you mean muscle is leaner than fat and takes up less space.
Fressia123 · 28/07/2020 08:30

I think I'm very much traumatised from being obese most of my life. Trying to not pay attention to the scales is a massive "leap of faith" so to speak.

As in the other thread when I was similar to this wage I thought I looked ok but I didn't. Findings a balance is really, really hard.

BTW muscle is denser than fat, it doesn't weight any less. Mass is an absolute, density is the relation between mass/volume.

I think you look great. There's nothing wrong with you and your concerns are in your head, maybe see the GP about it before you get obsessed.

Fressia123 · 28/07/2020 08:49

Thanks avoiding. I'm not obsessed ATM (I think I was at some point when I just wanted to see how low I could get, which it was never below a BMI of 22 I did go to the GP but didn't do much, just told me to eat bread if I remember correctly) .

But I haven't change don't eating or exercise habits. It can be disheartening to not lose much weight but that's something that I've had to come to terms with.

@BullshitVivienne - I'm sure that was what I meant 😂
