To ask for another handhold over the next few days?

A few people may remember my threads in the past. I have had a really, really difficult few years of recurrent pregnancy losses. In the past 3 years I've had 11 miscarriages ranging from 5-8 weeks.

Last time I asked for a handhold on here prior to a scan and I received so much support and love and it really helped. Unfortunately that time, we did see a heartbeat but it had stopped by the next scan.

I'm back again and I am now 12 weeks!!!! I have had a multitude of scans already and everything is looking super good this time, I can't quite believe we have got so far. I've seen baby bouncing about and legs and arms moving around everywhere, it's been amazing.

However, I'm back asking for another handhold please. When I was going through my miscarriages I was discovered to have a balanced translocation and a factor of that is I have a 5-6% chance of any child born having a severe genetic condition that would likely limit their life a lot.

Because of this I opted to have a test done. That was carried out last week and I am now waiting on the results. I am an anxious wreck. I am convinced the results will come back positive for the condition and whilst I know the odds are good they won't, I still can't believe anything good could actually happen to me. I don't even know if I'll be able to answer the phone when they ring to tell me as I feel I already know what they will say.

I really don't know what I'd do this time if this all went to pot again, I've invested too much hope this time that things may be okay and I just need a bit of a hold again please. I am so scared of going back to square one again after all of this.

You're doing so well!

Sciatica is awful - I had it with my daughter and still get it from time to time now. It does pass... Eventually!

Hi all,

Me again!

My new anxiety for the week is movement Sad

So for the past week I've felt what I'm fairly sure are kicks (20 weeks this week). However, there are some days like yesterday where I don't feel anything at all and others where it's quite a lot!

Do I need to be worried?! I do have an anterior placenta so was told I may not feel anything at all until 25 weeksish but it's not supposed to be good if movements decrease is it?! Sad although I think I read somewhere that they aren't regular until about 28 weeks?

God I'm a mess! And the fact my midwife is at a major city hospital rather than local means it's not easy to just quickly get hold of them.

Hi. Sorry to read about your losses.
My last pregnancy was anterior placenta and I didn't feel movements till 22w. I was in hospital for checks at 27w because I was worried about movement and was told even at that stage the baby is still very small and easily able to hide their kicks. Spent the whole 3rd trimester getting extra checks as he was seemingly very quiet in there. He's now an absolutely adorable 4m old.
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. If you are at all worried seek medical advice straight away.

20 week scan today went well :) all is fine.

They did spot something called an amniotic band which is apparently quite rare. I saw the consultant afterwards who said he's not concerned about it as it wasn't wrapped around any limbs and they'll scan again at 28 weeks but that would be more so for my peace of mind rather than any concern on their part.

Feeling more positive!

Hello!

Just checking back in to update a little.

Still going strong, still can't believe it!

38 weeks in the next couple of days! 🤞 It's not been very fun going through all this during Covid, it's not been great for my anxiety going through scans and things alone after all the bad news we've had previously but I'm really getting excited now Smile
