Melasma - birth control

Has anyone else notice that they developed melasma AFTER coming off birth control? I was on the pill for about 7 years on and off and started to notice a little patch above my top lip and decided to switch onto the Mirina coil which I had for a further two years, but since coming off all birth control a couple of years ago to try and conceive I’ve noticed that my melasma has become 10 times worse! I keep reading that birth control can cause melasma but I’m wondering if actually mine has been made worse from not being on any!

I’m on the pill and have an upper lip patch, I’m at the stage of thinking I should get a skin bleach fo it.

I’ve never really thought about it before but I had melasma that went away when I started the pill. I’m still on the pill so I don’t know if it will come back.

I developed chloasma (melasma during pregnancy) which didn't go away post-birth. I use a topical cream that worked wonders called HyperFade.
