To worry about my U.K. holiday

I’ve got a U.K. holiday booked end of August - it’s in the Forest of Dean.

Do people think that there’s a real likelihood of local lockdowns coming about and leading to U.K. holiday cancellations?

Surely it would devastate that sector completely?

YANBU - right to worry
YABU - it’ll be fine

Let me consult my crystal ball...

It's unlikely, I think. September may start being an issue.

Whats worse to you:

  • losing the money and not going?
  • have nothing booked and it's all fine?

Nobody knows. Any area could be locked down at any time.

Lelophants you’re right! Thanks. I’d feel worse off if I had nothing planned and then found it would have been fine.

Like everyone else I just don’t know.... but my DP suggested booking a long weekend away in the UK over New Year (NY Day bank hol is a Friday) and my initial reaction was “only if refundable”. However, I’m not worried about my holiday in west Wales in August. So, I guess I’m foreseeing problems but not in the summer.
