To report my neighbours?

Neighbours few doors down, youngsters seemingly live alone. I think they are maybe 17-18 max.

Music starts blaring at 9ish, rowdy behaviour, out in the street, brawling. Swearing etc. Goes on through the night till about 3/4 ish.

Just really fed up of it - should I report? If so, who to? Police (is it a crime? I'm not sure) council? Landlord of the house?

Don't feel comfortable confronting as they are very aggressive towards each other.

Also suspect drug use, drink / drug driving of a moped.

If it's a noise issue you need to report it to the environmental health department of your local council.

Sparklesocks · 27/07/2020 15:00

I think it's your council as first step, from what I understand noise complaints are not in the remit of the police unless it's linked to actively breaching the peace (violence towards people or property).

Normally councils will have a section on noise pollution on their website which details how to report.

romeolovedjulliet · 27/07/2020 15:20

i'd speak to the environmental at council first, if it's kicking off outside then i'd phone the police for advice.

Local council environmental health. And call the police Keep calling every time they behave disruptively. Every time. Even if it means you call three times a week. Keep calling. That’s all you can and need to do

heartsonacake · 27/07/2020 15:26

I’d report to their landlord so they know what’s going on, and I’d report them to the police each and every time it happened.

Noise to the council and landlord. Drink/drug driving to the police, especially if you have their registration and call the police when they are actually in the act.

Hi
I've just seen your message. This sounds like something similar to what is happening on my street. Without giving too much away whereabouts in the UK are you? Thanks

I work for the police where you are. Local council for on going noise and anti social behaviour.

If they are out brawling in the street ring the police when it is happening. You can email in information on the drink/drug driving

Thisyearcandoone · 06/08/2020 17:13

Thanks, I've got the forms from the council to keep a record and have taken some recordings to back it up.

We had our noisy teenage neighbours evicted, well their contract wasn't renewed, by complaining to their landlord. Of course this is only possible if you know who the landlord is and if they care.
