Deed of trust solicitor recommendation

Hi,
I am purchasing a house with my partner and I am putting in a large deposit which I want to protect (he always wants to ensure I’m fully protected as I was seriously burnt by my ex in the same situation)

I’ve been quoted £250 to draw this up from the firm doing our conveyancing, does this seem reasonable? Does anyone else perhaps have recommendations of anywhere else?

Thanks

This is about the going rate to be honest. That’s what my firm charges.

That is good. Solicitors have lots of background compliance so they will make little money on that. Refrain from doing it on the cheap. If it is not drawn up by a practising solicitor it could be voidable.

That’s normal. It’s pretty straight forward. It would be very unusual to have a separate solicitor draw it up.

Don't go for the cheapest. Yeah it's not money you want to spend, but you stand to lose an awful lot more if you don't have an effective document!

Thanks everyone.
