Flaky Facebook Buyer

I've been selling some of DDs toys on a facebook local group. Someone asked for a couple of things on Weds and said they'd collect today. It's now 18:00 and they still haven't turned up. I have messaged a couple of times to ask them to give me a time, just a ballpark, but they just keeps saying they will message me before they comes to see if it's alright. I stayed in this morning until 13:00, then had to go out and do some stuff. They're never going to turn up are they?. AIBU to offer the set to someone else who wanted it, or do I have to wait till midnight but they're def a "no show"?

If they've not shown I'd message them and say they have until set time (in the next hour) to collect or it'll be offered to the next in line.

Send one more message and say if they are not collected by such and such time they will go to the next bidder.

Sorry for the typos, and it should be
"wait till midnight BEFORE they're def a "no show"

My advice, don't do it that way. Give people a timeslot to come and view and warn then it's first come first served. Don't promise to hold them for anyone. Lots of people will mess you about. Once it's sold message anyone else who was due to come and view so they don't keep turning up.

I always ask for a specific time to avoid this. Having said that I've had a few people who insitlst they want an item multiple times before actually committing to a time. As I have a car I often suggest delivering as actually it saves alot of hassle arranging a time and hanging about.

MrMeSeeks · 25/07/2020 18:45

Id always say a set time. ( obv i’d understand if they text to Say they were running late due to work) But no contact, nope.
Message to say they have until a sat time then they go to the next buyer

Some people are just ignorant. They can have an agreed time to come and simply not turn up - not even take a few seconds to let you know they are not coming. What is that all about?

Thanks all, apparently her partner was coming and forgot! Its gone to someone else now.
