Collected butterfly eggs and caterpillars hatched. 3 have turned into chrysalis. Out of the other 55, today 7 of them have had parasitic wasp larvae eat their way out of them!!!
Reading up on it, around 70% caterpillars are infected.
Do I get rid of the lot and put them out of their misery of bring eaten from the inside out, or keep and hope that not all of them have it?
I must admit, it was very interesting, also slightly sickening, to watch and read up on!

Envy Boak - but I think I would be inclined to let nature take its course. I hate wasps, but it isn't really for me to say in a wider sense that they have less right to exist than butterflies. Especially as I'm definitely one of life's wasps, not one of life's butterflies.

Just watched that video, so grim! I never heard of this before. Is this a British caterpillar or are you somewhere more exotic? I think I would let nature take its course on this one, as horrible as nature can be sometimes.

FFS don't kill them. Let your imagination run free: in how many ways could you use them to get revenge on people who have pissed you off?
I can think of several.

I've got up this morning and there were 2 more zombies. I've taken them outside with the others. 1 more cocoon though. Wonder what will come out of it? Wasps or butterfly?
Yes in Britain. Just Cabbage Whites
