Mumsnet needs to piss off with that video of the amazing chocolate marshmallow thing that follows you around every page - MOST OF US ARE ON DIETS!

I feel sure nobody is going to disagree with me on this.

I want to see it - Mn clearly doesn't think my budget would stretch to artisanal marshmallows.
I get adverts for Boden and the gap pretty much exclusively.

Sisterwives · 22/07/2020 21:24

I'm not on a diet and I haven't seen it 😢

amijustparanoidorjuststoned · 22/07/2020 22:04

Maybe they are trying to tell you to sack off the diet and to accept and love your bodies?!

SnackSizeRaisin · 22/07/2020 22:07

I think the ads are personalised....I have never seen that one anyway!

Jellykat · 22/07/2020 22:10

Never seen it.. i think you're being followed by the mumsnet marshmallow ghost OP!

ClarabelleClanger · 22/07/2020 22:32

Some of you haven't seen it?! Shock

Envy Envy Envy - yes, it's envy.

It's a cute video and a good recipe, but it's SUCH a killer when you're trying to forget about chocolate/cake/ice cream. It makes me leave the site in: Angry quite frequently.

At least it's a change from that 'oaty bath' thing, I suppose. I've seen that ten million times too.

Sisterwives · 22/07/2020 22:36

I'd rather see that than the ads for the PS5 and fake tan i've seen all day. Neither of which relate to anything i've looked at on MN or indeed, through my browser.

ButteryPuffin · 22/07/2020 22:37

Speak for yourself, I'm not on a diet!

letmethinkaboutitfornow · 22/07/2020 22:39

YANBU - I see it and it blooming follows me everywhere! Even pops in to the bottom right of the screen when I scroll up and down 😡😡😡

I am trying to diet!

FourPlasticRings · 22/07/2020 22:40

Mine are all clothing ads.

ClarabelleClanger · 22/07/2020 22:41

BatteryPuffin: Well I am, so bollocks. 😛

CaptainCarp · 22/07/2020 22:42

I just keep getting an ad for a hearing aid... Which is slightly worrying. I think my phone has heard me saying "I'm sorry I didn't quite catch that" too much at work 😂

ClarabelleClanger · 22/07/2020 22:43

letmethinkaboutitfornow - Exactly!

And I think it's following me even more now that I've mentioned it. Hmm

ClarabelleClanger · 22/07/2020 22:44

Carp, that's wonderful/hilarious. 😅

NeedingCoffee · 22/07/2020 22:45

I keep getting utterly revolting looking “soft food” adverts. Mind you, they do wonders for suppressing the appetite.....

ouch321 · 22/07/2020 22:45

What is it exactly? Can you recall the product name?

AnotherEmma · 22/07/2020 22:46

"MOST OF US ARE ON DIETS!"

Speak for yourself mate!

Good on you for dieting but I would find it a bit depressing if most of us were.

ClarabelleClanger · 22/07/2020 22:50

Emma - meh. I don't care about smug nitpickers! Anyway, I only need to lose 5 pounds, so balls.

Ouch - well, it's a cooking video from Mumsnet HQ? The nice lady with dark hair cooking a chocolate/marshmallow dessert with crushed up biscuits. Even when you close it, it still comes back on EVERY page.

No way to block. No escape.

OP posts:
Lockheart · 22/07/2020 23:11

Have you tried using an ad blocker?

YesIDoLoveCrisps · 22/07/2020 23:14

I am trying to eat less due to crisp overeating in lockdown. I haven’t seen the advert but I still fancy a posh marshmallow.

ClarabelleClanger · 22/07/2020 23:17

Lockheart - yes, it doesn't work on it.

OP posts:
Knowhowufeel2 · 22/07/2020 23:19

No marshmallow advert here either. Just books and clothes, so pretty boring. Yours at least sounds different 😁

Gertie75 · 22/07/2020 23:20

I'm only seeing mattress adverts but I have been googling them lately, have you been researching marshmallows?.....

ClarabelleClanger · 22/07/2020 23:24

It's not an ad. It's an actual Mumsnet promotion thing.

This:

It comes up on every Mumsnet page I read, for months. And even when you close it, it pops back up in the bottom right hand corner when you scroll.

Like I said, it's a nice video but it making trying to diet so much harder.

I thought everyone was seeing it, not just me.

OP posts:
MsAwesomeDragon · 22/07/2020 23:28

I'm not seeing it. I get ads for art and craft equipment. Guess what I've been doing with dd2 over lockdown. I also get Goth clothing ads, which is weird, because I am definitely not Goth.
