Not an AIBU, I've posted here for the traffic

Ive just finished a course of antibiotics and the past few days have had an itchy downstairs. I'm assuming ive ended up getting thrush because of the antibiotics

I'm just looking online and the cannisten cream says for external use only..... this sounds daft i know...... but is the inside of your lips classed as internal or not?

I don't want to buy some and then it start burning me or somthing because ive put it on wrong Blush

I last had thrush about 7 years ago and cant for the life of me remember how i treated it!

Sorry this is a daft...... I don't want to Go into a pharmacy and ask either because i feel like an idiot but I'm genuinely not sure

Buy the tablet too. Cream alone is decking useless.
Cut out sugar from diet for a week or two and get some acidophilus

monkeysox · 22/07/2020 09:38

Also treat partner too

MinnieJackson · 22/07/2020 09:44

I had it so bad before, I think I did put it all over but not inside the holiest of holies Blush I think the best one is the pessary and cream combined

I sympathize, antibiotics give me thrush too.

I take one pill of Fluconazole, can buy at chemist if in the UK ( I buy a supply when in the UK to use when back home as I can't buy them here.) It's a wonder drug for me, thrush is usually gone within 24hrs.I use canesten to calm the itch down, just around the outside area though. I tried a pessary once and my vag was on fire Shock never again !

Agree about treating partner and cutting out sugar !

BlahBlipBloopBlop · 22/07/2020 10:10

Yes will definetly get treatment for partner. He wanted to have sex last night ( TTC ) and I said no because i didnt want it to spread to him or further inside me Blush

He will just need the cream though wont he? Or do they do tablets for men?

I tried a pessary once and my vag was on fire This is what I'm worried about Grin

Ive seen the combi one with the tablet and the cream, I'll get that for myself and get my partner cream too unless there's somthing better for him? ( He hasn't complained of itching or anything but it's better to be safe than sorry isnt it )

Thank you for the replies

Candida lives on sugar. If you want to get rid of it permanently, it means a month without sugar. That also means no or very little carbohydrates and no fruit.
