Totally inappropriate - aibu to be shocked by this?

Anyone else follow Totes Inappropes on Facebook? I've just read her latest post and I'm shocked. I thought she was all about women wearing what the hell they want but that post is nasty, snobbish, un-feminist and victim blaming. Her supporters claim we're 'reading it wrong'??

I've no idea who she is. But she's right in what she's saying. Young girls and women today have a far more sexual look than say 20 years ago. The fad of having shit pumped into your face and lips, and aspiring to have the same body as women who've had a fuck tonne of surgery to get it is dangerous. And I think all the instagram ideals and aspirations contribute massively to poor mental health.

She's also correct in so much as on a night out, the girls with lots of flesh on display will always get more attention than those without. A lot of men do see skimpy clothes as a sign of a woman being easy or cheap, and if you're not prepared for that sort of attention it can be quite overwhelming and unsettling.

I'm all for anybody wearing whatever they desire, but it's foolish to pretend that different looks don't create different perceptions.

I'd not heard of her but seems a few of my friends follow her. She has done a follow up piece to this post.

What is this- 2002? Have you not heard of bloggers?

They aren't all Aung San Kyi. Why are you giving her traffic - to prove to yourselves you don't like her? Don't you realise what massive idiots that makes you look?

She’s a particular type of brittle self-improved post-menopausal blogger and good on her for that.

Yeah, I didn't like that either. But then I'm not a huge fan of the "kids drive me to gin" type bloggers generally. Being honest about parenting is one thing but the near constant negativity on most of them is unsettling. So I don't follow them anymore! I actually quite like my kids!
