Totally inappropriate - aibu to be shocked by this?

Anyone else follow Totes Inappropes on Facebook? I've just read her latest post and I'm shocked. I thought she was all about women wearing what the hell they want but that post is nasty, snobbish, un-feminist and victim blaming. Her supporters claim we're 'reading it wrong'??

Her grammar is appalling as is the picture of the woman.

People exposing themselves in public like that I find highly embarrassing.

I couldn't care less what she thinks of other women's figures or clothes, we're all different and it's a matter of taste. I suppose she is entitled to her opinion, maybe she is jealous? None of it very interesting though.

I don't think it covers her enough though. At 12 my DD was wearing tankini shorts.

Also putting a 12 year old in a skimpy bikini all over social media really pisses me off. She's still a child.

I am a bit of a prude though so maybe I'm the one in the wrong.

Pretty much what I came on here to say. It’s so derivative! I don’t think everyone has to have a unique viewpoint but reading posts like this where the blogger is clearly trying to be unique and quirky and outspoken and then seeing hoards of “fans” cooing in the comments makes me roll my eyes so much it physically pains me. “Middle aged woman hates young women flaunting too much skin” STOP THE FUCKING PRESS.

Damn bloggers make my skin crawl, so mad at myself for being dragged into this 🤦🏼‍♀️

I'd also like to add that young women have been wearing tiny mini skirts since the 60s. It seems that once a certain type of woman reaches middle age, they forget they did the exact same thing and their parents were admonishing them for it, too. And thus the cycle repeats.

Well, the woman says that she used to wear very short skirts and corset-thingies made of rubber when she was a youngster!

I've just had a look at a few more of her threads and she really is quite revolting and artificial. I didn't see anything about a 12 year old in a bikini which in itself doesn't seem terrible; of course I cannot judge having not seen pictures. I don't want to anyway.

Seeing pictures of that woman is enough to put me off food for life. I will not be revisiting her thread.

Boring, poorly written and littered with glaring errors, but I wouldn't say it was offensive.

I find Totes disingenuous and hypocritical...she is all about the power to wear and say what she wants but the moment anyone strays from the magic 'rules' her and her pals have created it is all some silly teenage cancel culture going on. There was a time when she created some makeover video and people gave some very valid criticism and it was completely made an absolute drama out of! Someone was telling people not to criticise as her mum was on the page ffs!

I unfollowed her a few years ago. The spelling and grammar annoyed me too much. And I'm not a pedant usually. But I do think spell checking is pretty important when it's a blog.
She's also trying too hard to be lairy and maverick!

Couldn’t get past ‘Nicki Ménage’ and ‘teemed’ tbh. Though for my sins I did read the whole lot. Just kinda lost a lot of respect for her not even bothering to look up how to spell someone’s name she was making a point about.

Is the one of those ‘I’m so down to Earth me, my kids are little shits and I drink loads to get through the day so you will find me relatable and I can advertise stuff to you’ people?

If you don't like what she posts, just don't follow her. I feel like 90% of modern day problems could be solved by this.

She probably wrote it to provoke controversy and get more clicks, and you've provided just that by linking here.

It's like an extended, particularly dull and uninspiring post by a Mumsnetter.

She talks about the ‘little fuckers’ or the ‘little bastards’ a lot (her children) Oh, and Gin.

She has a lot of followers but she’s seriously grim.
