I’m a bit shocked but not surprised at this

I’ve travelled through Stansted airport today, returning from an EU country.
I was sent a link to fill 2 days ago regarding my contact details should I need to isolate after I returned.
All good I thought, but when I arrived here nobody checked whether I had completed the form and there were no temperature checks happening.

For context, when I arrived last week in the EU country they took my temp as I walked into the passport control area and made sure I had completed my health details by showing a QR code as I passed through.

Why on earth wasn’t this happening in the UK?

They have no idea if I filled In the health form in to return to England.

They have no chance of catching suspected cases if they don’t do this.

Because our government doesn't actually care. Looking at the way they're handling all of this, it's the only possible explanation.

A friend is going to south Africa next week. The whole flight will be taken by bus to a hotel and each person has to stay in their hotel room without leaving for any reason for at least 7 days. Their food is delivered and their temperature taken. I think if no one shows symptoms after 7 days they are allowed to leave. UK seems like the complete opposite.

@ihatethecold Did the form ask for your flight details and passport details and personal info OP?

If so then of course they know that you filled it in, they know who is on each arriving flight and may well have stopped anyone who hadn't, but you wouldn't know that, as you had.

Where I live we have a form to complete to register for a PCR test on arrival but no need to present proof of completion. The proof is that you're on the list for the test.

There was nobody anywhere doing anything related to this at Stansted.

how do they know I dont have a temperature after being in a different country. Compared to the country I travelled from today it was woeful
