To ask for conservation charity suggestions?

I'm making a new will this week. I want to make a bequest to a charity as a tiny gesture towards what I, as a human, have done to damage this Earth.

I know there's WWF, Greenpeace, the various UK wildlife charities etc. Can anyone suggest any other please?

Four Paws.
They help neglected circus/zoo animals in poor countries or those used for bear baiting, bile farming, dancing bears etc.

It’s lovely seeing the animals go from tiny metal cages (literally no bigger than the animal itself) to huge open sanctuaries.

Have a look at Fauna and Flora International. David Attenborough is a patron.

Another idea might be if you have a local nature conserve or animal rescue nearby.

What about your local Wildlife Trust? They, and the RSPB, do an enormous amount for nature conservation in this country. I'm a conservation professional, that's where I would put my money

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I suppose small and local is a better use of a comparatively modest bequest and it wouldn't get swallowed up in admin and advertising etc.

I live in a very naice area so was thinking perhaps other areas need it more, but then again, this area has given me so much pleasure it's good to give a little back.

I’m not sure if you’re read about the scandal with WWF in the past couple of weeks - they have supported trophy hunting. They’ve towed back on their position but I would never trust them. Not forgetting that they partnered with Sea World in the past too.

If you value animal welfare I wouldn’t support WWF or RSPB for that matter, given their support for game bird shooting (although they are also reviewing this following criticism).

How about Born Free, or a smaller, specific charity like Jane Goodall Foundation or Save Elephant?

'Bumblebee Conservation Trust'?

'Froglife'?

'Butterfly Conservation'?

'Buglife'?

All UK charities which often get overlooked because the subjects are not as 'fluffy', photogenic or high profile as many othersl

Some great suggestions, thank you everyone. I didn't want to go for a big WWF or Greenpeace type, so I think I'll split between Fauna and Flora International, and a smaller local one who I'm sure eke out the money wisely.
