Watery menstrual blood

TMI I know but it's not something I've experienced before and we don't tend to disclose these things irl.

The past couple of months, my period has been extremely watery. Literally like water. I also have had a lot more pain than usual. Doesn't feel like a cramp but more of a sharp pain where I would expect my ovary would be. Not awful, just there.

Is this normal? It's just odd as in the 20 years that I've had periods I've never experienced this.

Sorry if this is a ridiculous question Grin

Doesn’t seem normal to me. I would ring gp if I were you.

pepsicola5 · 19/07/2020 19:41

@Marlouse wasn't sure if I'd look a fool for calling about something like this!

How old are you? From what you have said you are too young to be peri menopausal. Watery periods can by one of the symptoms.

Definitely not pregnant. Haven't had sex in 2 years (joy). I'm breastfeeding but have been for 21 months. Periods came back almost immediately and were fairly normal, just erratic. Settled down a few months ago. I'm late 20s and have had my period since I was 9 (very young I know).

Definitely ring your GP! You wouldn’t look a fool at all, it needs investigating.

Well I really hope I'm not peri menopausal! That would be awful!
