DM being rude

DM can be so rude sometimes and then gets really defensive when I don't join in.

I was just putting my baby to bed and I got a message from her. It was two photos, screenshots of a family friend's holiday snaps with the comment 'she's pretty it's just a shame her fingers are so fat' Shock

I love a good gossip but feel very uncomfortable passing comment on a person's appearance & DM knows this. I messaged back 'hope no one screenshots pics of me to send around and comment on my appearance'.

WIBU or is this how people talk about people in private!? She makes out that I'm up myself and judgemental.

No I would hate that, it's the kind of thing my Grandmother used to do, and my Mum although less so, whether people they knew or strangers in the street (eg: 'God why on earth would she wear leggings with an arse like that' when neither of them were/are exactly supermodels or fashion plates themselves).

It's vile and I refuse to engage with it.

Some people are just a bit bitchy (not "A bitch" just say bitchy things). Those people hate it when you don't join in, as it shines a light on the inappropriateness of what they've said. It's all fun while other other people are joining in.

(I know this as I can be a bit bitchy too).

My mother does this, I just completely ignore the commente and change the conversation. So so nasty to speak about people in this fashion, I loathe it and would never speak about another human being like that.

She thinks you're judgemental, when she's literally passing judgement on someone else?!
