Windbreaker type jackets - can anyone throw recommendations my way?

My DF has booked a weekend away for him and DM for her big birthday this coming up up and it's a bit of a big deal for them.
They're going to the coast with plenty of hiking routes and scenic walks that they're hoping to do.
But DF just realised that their (old and knackered) walking jackets have disappeared during a house move and they need some ASAP.

Could anyone post links or recommend any nice jackets under £50 that will arrive in time? Not those pack away waterproof ones but more substantial ones. Huge bonus if they're one of those 3 in 1 jackets that you can take a layer out of to suit the temperature.

You could try looking at Mountain Warehouse, they seem to have a perpetual sale on.

I've not had a "proper" jacket from there, but I've bought trousers and a lightweight, packaway jacket of theirs, DP has their trousers and a fleece, and they all seem pretty well made for the money.

Here you go www.mountainwarehouse.com/bracken-melange-womens-3-in-1-waterproof-jacket-p13656.aspx/beige/ it's a tad over the £50 but sounds like what your DM wants.

Lovely Thanks, unfortunately that's a size 20 only. But there were some suggestions underneath. I'll send the link her way and see. She's always very reserved about spending money but my DF is pushing her to for her birthday and all that Grin

Try GoOutdoors. www.gooutdoors.co.uk/15906517/hi-gear-women-s-transition-3-in-1-jacket-15906517 for example. You need a discount card but they are only a fiver and last a year.

Decathlon do some excellent ones that are really good value for money. Or look at Craghopper ones, they're usually really good.

I have a Berghaus one too and that's brilliant.

Tadaa! Tresspass three in one under £50. That one is the ladies but tere's a few options on there. Trespass are fab. Very very waterproof and windproof. They do the job

Definitely worth having more of a look at mountain warehouse, their stuff is great and there's a good range of prices.
