Date and massive spot urgent help!

Ginbunny1212 · 17/07/2020 19:45

Hello all, bring a bit dramatic, but I have a massive spot

Advice needed. I am going on a lunchtime date tomorrow and I have a massive spot on on The left side of my face, few cms away from my mouth. The spot is that big I have called it Russell.

Russell is very red, swollen and is leaking every time I open my mouth. The centre of Russell is yellow, soft and more raised. Surrounding him is a little most of fluid. I can’t cover it in make up as the leaking washes it away and all I am left with is cakey mess.

So how do I minimise it? Do I cancel! Will he notice or care? Help, this guy sounds amazing in our connections and good looking in pictures!

Toothpaste is apparently quite good for drying them out. Also get as much sleep tonight as possible. I always break out when I don't get enough sleep.

gower4 · 17/07/2020 19:47

I'd postpone

naechunce · 17/07/2020 19:49

Put straight vodka on it!

honeylulu · 17/07/2020 19:50

I was going to say toothpaste too. Then in the morning steroid cream (like for dermatitis). The latter is an emergency measure only as it thins the skin but it can make a dramatic difference. Try not to pick or squeeze ... so tempting I know. Get as much sleep as you can tonight and drink lots water.

Failing that, bag or bucket on head?

Waveysnail · 17/07/2020 19:51

I'd use sterlised needle and prick the head if its braised and yellow. Gently squeeze out the pus. You can buy spot patches

Worse come to worse pop plaster in and pretend you cut yourself.

massivecheeseplant · 17/07/2020 19:57

What works miracles for me is 1. Pierce with needle and gently squeeze as much as possible out until you get blood. Then 2. Crush an aspirin and add a tiny amount of water to make a paste. Put paste in spot with plaster over the top overnight. Aspirin really is a game changer!

However, personally, I would still just cancel. It's never going to be healed by tomorrow and you won't be able to enjoy it without feeling paranoid every single second of the date.

Sorry, double post!

Grobagsforever · 17/07/2020 19:58

Toothpaste overnight as a first layer, sudocream as a top layer. Squeeze first as much as possible if you can.,

Enjoy the date, if there is chemistry the spot won't be an issue anyway

Iooselipssinkships · 17/07/2020 20:00

Colour over it with eyeliner and pass it off as a beauty spot

doodlejump1980 · 17/07/2020 20:00

Meet him indoors and wear a face mask? 🤷🏻‍♀️

UnaCorda · 17/07/2020 20:05

Could you go on a date with Russell instead?

CodenameLevonelle · 17/07/2020 20:08

When you get out the shower, allow the spot to dry naturally or with a cool hairdryer before going anywhere near with makeup. Applying makeup may make it ooze again for a bit so fab gently with tissue, re dry it and touch up with concealer and powder.
I second the steroid cream as a one off overnight. Will certainly reduce swelling and redness. I wouldnt be able to resist a good squeeze either because any gunk isn't going to go away any other way at this short notice

PinkyBrain · 17/07/2020 20:10

In the current climate you just accessorise with a face mask surely?! Grin

Ginbunny1212 · 17/07/2020 20:33

Haha. I think there is no gunk in it. Think it’s one of those annoying dumb spots. I tried a pimple patch and that just made the spot very red and round. Done a trial run of make up looks bad

The aspirin or salicylic acid as up thread to degunk then a blister plaster/hydrocolloid plaster to absorb the ooze/promote healing without it drying out so that make up cakes less

NewMumma1819 · 17/07/2020 20:49

I had acne for 10 years. In regards to makeup, make sure you use primer, then apply your POWDER then concealer, foundation and more powder. Ths initial layer of powder mattifies the area and helps makeup last. Hope this helps. Also, I wouldnt cancel, my partner met me when my acne was at its worse and we're now engaged with a baby 6 years later!

Ginbunny1212 · 17/07/2020 23:00

Thanks guys. Think the pimple patch made it worse. I have a red circle. But some steroid cream on it. Hopefully it works. But now have a big one on my neck. Hormones. Ahh!!

Honestly? He/she probably won’t even notice.
