For years dh has been commuting in
to London. It costs a fortune and we also have to pay £130 a month so that he can park at the station.
The trains are plagued by delays, filthy and horrendously overcrowded. He often has to stand the whole way in.
Commuters have had no choice but to suck it up and have been the cash cow for rail companies.
Companies have seen that their employees can work well from home. Companies can probably operate a 2 day a week in the office policy and therefore cut the size of the office the have.
Unless you are made to, why would any rail commuter want to go back to the office every day.
If Bojo wants people back in cities surely they need to make commuting a better experience to encourage it.
