My first AIBU.
This morning on Radio 4 at around 07:35hrs. Ken Clarke was asked about the way money is being thrown at trying to prop up the economy, prevent mass unemployment and help town centres keep businesses open.
When Rishi Sunak announced £1,000 to be given to every employer who keeps on staff previously furloughed I thought that wasn't going to work. Companies struggling with less trade and not needing so many staff are not going to keep unnecessary staff on for a one-off payment of £1k. Ken Clarke said that town centres are going to be devastated and it's likely at least 3 million will be out of work by the end of 2020. That throwing more cash at the problem is not going to help. I agree with him. AIBU?
