Hi not an aibu but I posted earlier this week in parenting and didn't get many replies

My 22month old does not consistently respond to his own name which he was doing at is 12 month check with HV.

During lockdown I noticed it was mostly when he was watching tv/iPad, really interested in his toys or was doing something he knows he shouldn't. We really focused on praising him when he responded to his name which worked but were having the same issue again. When family members (grandparents) are FaceTiming which is not massively interested in anyway he won't even look up if one of them are calling his name but then they usually call after tea so it's unwinding time so he's usually watching tv or looking through a book. People have even said he's ignorant 🤷‍♀️ I always thought it was selective hearing.
He isn't able to say his own name yet either but his speech in general is coming on so well he says new words every day and he's starting to put words together.

I would say he's hitting all milestones maybe speech his not the top but he's doing good.

Someone has suggested this is a sigh of autism when discussing with a friend so I did the M Chat thing online he ranked 1 which was low.

Thanks for reading if you got this far.

He's my first and sometimes I feel abit out of my depth. Just want to do the right thing.

Xxx
