To not paint it all...

Had my house professionally decorated nearly 2 years ago. I had a flat matte finish and it's starting to look a bit marked in places (dark colours so it's generally where someone had put their hand on the wall or furniture has chipped the paint). Also they didn't paint all the way behind the radiators which are column ones now so you can see the old paint through the columns.

I can't afford a professional repaint and it's only a few marks throughout the house so would be a waste of money. Would it be obvious if I just touched up/ repainted the marked bits and behind the radiators myself? Can't really be arsed to pull everything into the middle and dust sheet the whole room just for a few patches Grin

It'll be obvious if you look for it, but probably less obvious than the current scratches and missing bits.

Difficult to match the colour, not sure what would look worse

I picked the colours from a chart so I still have the email with my exact colours, brands and finishes on if that helps

The issue, aside from the non-uniform coverage, is that the stuff that's on the wall already will be slightly faded by now due to sunlight, so even the colour used before won't be exactly the same.

We learnt the hard way that even when you buy the same shade in the same finish from the same manufacturer, different batches of paint are slightly different. Ended up having to relain the whole room again.
