To either your own thread on MN on to a comment you have posted on another thread, or even on a different forum...

I once got called a sexual predator because I asked for ideas on how to spice up my relationship with DH... which was massive jump to conclusions although it did really make me laugh.

Two stand out-

I posted about vanity sizing in S&B - I'm a uk size 8 and managed to get into a pair of UK (not US) size 4 Jean's in gap. I made it clear I was in no way a size 4 and the sizing was ridiculous. I was accused of stealth boasting and being sizeist 🤔 Nope it was about clothes sizing being unreliable!

The other post was about babies and sleeping through. I said ' I love telling people that my DD was sleeping through from 4 weeks old 8-8, however all wasn't well as DS 15months at the same time was still waking 3 times a night, therefore the toddler was keeping me up!', apparently this was insensitive to new mums struggling with sleepless nights? Err, I was clearly stating that my 2 were very different as are everyones.🤷‍♀️

@StrangerSwings
That first one got me. It reminds me of something similar actually. I posted on a thread in reply to a woman saying she was fat and wanted to loose weight. And my reply was “ no you have fat. Fat is not what you are” and I got called a hippy and snowflake. 😂😂

Most of my OPs seem to attract hostility or accusations of being a troll or journo despite being here for years.Confused I remember one where posters had a problem believing that DS had Pass the Parcel at his birthday party.Shock

After the release of the final Harry Potter film I was accused of posting spoilers because I mentioned Harry won.

Many years ago, on an older mostly US parenting forum that isn't around anymore, on what had been a light hearted conversation on holiday traditions, I was once called a child abuser for not having a Christmas tree for my kids to decorate as apparently were my grandparents as I was discussing how they had this little ceramic one they put out every year.

Also, I once on a post asking for recommendations, had my recommendation for co-sleeper cots with how it was really helpful for me compared to the typical one I'd had at first screenshotted and put into one those mocking sites where I was called all sorts for my 'smug hippie' post. It seemed like a lot of effort against what was a little post I'd barely thought on.

I posted about feelings of longing for a child and feeling sad that it wasn't on the cards for me any time soon due to no partner, not being the right time etc and I was also very early 20s at the time. . I made the mistake of mentioning that a very close friend has just had a baby who I adored. I was told I was pathetic and jealous, just trying to copy my friend, far to childish to have a child of my own etc. It was bizarre but It really hurt and knocked my confidence and I've actually never posted a serious thread asking for advice since.

Oh god, there are some truly horrendous responses I’ve read on here, just for the sake of being downright rude but that’s
Got to be one of the worst! I am sorry that happened to you. MN is great for the funny threads though. One in particular I read was “what’s the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever done” and one woman posted she got blackout drunk and took a shit on the stairs and blamed the cat while her DH cleaned it’s up. That thread had me in hysterics for days! The best side of MN by far!
