To split sets of books for presents

So I bought a set of 12 classic children’s book from the book company, all brand new but Wrapped up as a set. Would it be unreasonable to split the 12 books Into 4 presents so each child gets 3 books? I would think about which books would suit which child, and I’ve checked the books don’t say do not sell individually so I don’t think they will know they are from a set of 12?

I think it's perfectly ok, and a sensible money saving idea!

Entirely reasonable. I've done similarly.

It all depends on the child. None of mine, for example would want the middle three or last three, because if books are in a series, they like to start at the beginning and work their way through!

Oh yes sorry they aren’t linked! So one is the ginger bread man, Cinderella, 3 little pigs etc

I have done similar but split into 12 individual books. Then give a book and something extra as a gift :)

Sounds fine! We never duplicate books here so we ask the kids to share with each other from their book cases, so we would never have bought them both the same set anyway.

In this case it is perfectly fine, and a lovely gift imo

I love books as gifts but I would probably give one book and something else unless you know the child is a reader.

Ok! Fab, thanks for the suggestions!
