To ask for a refund

We had a supermarket delivery at 5pm but some items were missing, we thought it was just one of those things as we haven't ordered from this supermarket before but they accept the free school meals vouchers online. Just after 8pm there was a knock on the door and some supermarket bags were on the doorstep, the driver had returned with the items which he said had been put in the wrong crate and so stayed on the van. I took them and put them in the fridge but they were very warm to the touch, all were meat products. Aibu to request a refund ? I don't want to give the children meat that has been out of the fridge for at least 3 hours on a hot day.

Of course you’re entitled to a refund- just call them.

Yep. Phone them and explain your problem and tell them how you would like them to sort it. Then keep very quiet and let them do the talking. It’s up to them to compensate you.

Supermarket delivery vans are refrigerated, I’m sure it’ll be fine

I'd think so too if the food hadn't felt warm to the touch, it didn't feel like it had been in the fridge at all.

I would speak to customer services about it. You wouldn’t buy warm meat from the supermarket so it shouldn’t be delivered to you like that. Just make sure you explain to them what happened with the delivery driver Smile
