Kids Bootcut Jeans

CharlieSays13 · 12/07/2020 18:28

Would it be reasonable to put my 9 year old DD in Bootcut Jeans or are they a total fashion no no?

Are bootcut jeans not in fashion?

And does your 9 year old want to wear them?

CharlieSays13 · 12/07/2020 19:51

I don't know if they are in fashion, I'm rubbish at that kind of thing. DD likes them but she likes anything new. I don't want her being laughed at and sadly that would likely happen. A few pairs have been given to me brand new but I just don't know if we should wear them or charity shop them.

If she likes them then let her wear them. My children have loads of hand me down stuff.

Who on earth would laugh at a nine year old because her jeans were a particular style?

CharlieSays13 · 12/07/2020 20:09

I've discovered 9 year olds can be a tough crowd sadly.

Best way to check if they are in fashion would be to see if you can buy that cut for them currently in 'fashionable' stores. I have no idea if they are in fashion - I dread this age.

LadyFuschia · 12/07/2020 20:14

I would if she liked them but I’d also be up front about the style being different to what’s mostly in the shops - though it’s coming back with the current teens. But realistically there might be some mean girls she knows who pass comment so she needs to be know —and prepare her stinging retort— in case.
Then if she’s happy to wear them then think no more!

LadyFuschia · 12/07/2020 20:14

Oh strikethrough fail!!!

AriettyHomily · 12/07/2020 20:15

Where are they from? What does she think? My nine year olds would not wear anything they don't deem acceptable

Smella123 · 12/07/2020 20:16

They’re not ‘in fashion’ but they’re also not the sort of thing that is spectacularly ‘out of fashion’ if that makes sense? I’d definitely let her wear them if she likes them :)

CharlieSays13 · 12/07/2020 21:02

Thanks folks, they have very nice embroidery on them and she thinks they are smart so I reckon she'll wear them 👍
