We live in a lovely, peaceful, quiet area. There are some garages at the end of our culdesac that are owned by people who don’t live in the street. No problem.
It’s a lovely warm day, the windows are open, and for the past 30 mins at least all I’ve been able to hear is the loud revving of a ‘boy racer’ type car. Very annoying. It was coming from one of the garages. After at least half an hour of non-stop revving, the car pulled up in front of our house, the driver got out and left the engine running. If this was a ‘normal’ car, I wouldn’t have even noticed, but this was so flipping loud the house was shaking (I exaggerate, but you get the picture!)
I went out and shouted (had to shout to be heard over the ridiculous noise of the engine) “can you turn the engine off please!” To which the owner replied he was doing nothing wrong, and was fully taxed and MOT’d and could do what he liked. I said “it’s been going on for well over half an hour now, it’s doing my head in, and now you’re right outside my living room!” Anyway, he got back in the car and drove off.
Was I being unreasonable in saying something?
