So I see there is some availability, but not sure whether to book. Feel like we should still steer away from large groups for the summer but also need a break and some fun with the two kids while acting within guidance. Have been once before and loved it but feel unsure/guilty about booking in light of Covid. This would be our summer hol so we would be splashing out going there.

Pro
A break kids will really enjoy
A variety of food / takeaway options
Lovely accommodation
Chalets so can socially distance
Pool is open

Cons
Too many people so socially distancing not possible
Everything might need to booked in advance for specific periods so a lot of hassle
Not sure how pool social distancing will work

AIBU to book (August)?

I have a break booked but we will ask for a refund as it's expensive anyway and the restrictions don't work for us. Only two pre booked swims over the break (we normally manage 6 on a long weekend break), arriving late and leaving early.

There's also three families in our villa so can't go anyway but that's beside the point for your plan.

I think it would be fun if the price was reflective of the restrictions but it's not so will wait another year.

I personally wouldn't bother. It's up to you of course but I just don't think it's worth spending all that money for a restricted holiday.

Remember the lube!

Swimming is restricted to 1 hour slots isn't it? I wouldn't pay all that money for CP this year.

icedaisy · 12/07/2020 15:22

Pool is not open as you know it.

Closed until 27 July. Two X two hour slots per mid week and weekend break. Four X two hour slots per week break. Must be booked. Arrive ready, no showers.

Check in now not till 2, lodge 4, leave 9 and off by 12 so losing a day.

That aside I would go, but I would read all the info on website and make sure it's ok for you. My Dd is little so pool wouldn't be an issue but would be for older kids. We used to be in all day.

I personally wouldn’t, given the high prices and the high amount of restrictions. We have rescheduled for next summer.

Reduction in activities should equal a reduction in price but that’s not the case.

Thanks very much. I’m now thinking it probably is too much to pay for such restricted hols, especially with the arrival and departure times and restricted pool use. And when we had such a good time before the kids might just be disappointed. Prob better to go another time when we can make the most of it. Thanks again for the helpful comments.
