New to this, sorry if ifs in the wrong thread!

After leaving my ex over 2 years ago and living with my mom in 1 bedroom an 3 kids, i have recently been successful in being shortlisted for social housing☺️ The next step is the tenancy assessment which asks for bank statements , wage slips etc which is i fine i have nothing to hide.. apart from due to being in lockdown and not getting on with my mom me and the kids are always out at the shops buying food, going for walks which entails buying drinks and food Etc. I am also paying my debts my ex got me into (and forgot to change one address of the debt to my moms as i just set up a DD so is still showing at my previous address oops. but only have 3 outgoing now as ive worked hard to get these down, so my bank account looks sad over the last 6 months.

Is this going to effect my chances of securing accomadation?

I would not worry at all it shows you have made the commitment to clear the debts and the HA advisor will be able to see this from your statements.
Make use of any Charities that are available to help you with furniture etc that way you won't be tempted to go into debt again again your HA will have telephone numbers of anyone who can help you don't be afraid to ask for all the help you can get and enjoy your new home.

Thank you for replying! Most debts are cleared and the ones still outstanding do show on my bank statements as DD, its all the transactions in the shops im worried about as they amount up to about 60 a week lately maybe more (that is with cashback etc but doesnt show as cashback) obviously i know i wont be able to do this once paying more bills and rent which is fine, just do not want to be deemed as not able to afford it as this is my last options
