15 month old not crawling or walking

AIBU to be worried about my 15 month old DS who has never crawled and also isn't walking yet? He can stand up himself holding onto something but that's about it!

I know that all babies are different but now I am starting to wonder if I need to see my doctor about this..

In my experience children who bottom shuffle tend to be later walkers.

It is a lot easier to get into a position to pull yourself up to standing if you arrive at a piece of furniture by crawling there, therefore walking and leg strength tends to come sooner.

Do lots of practicing of standing at furniture and encouraging to cruise around as this action will strengthen legs and hips. Offer an exciting toy or item a few steps further away on the setter to encourage him to move along to it.

Crawling is actually also important for fine motor hand and wrist strength so even if he doesn't crawl to get around offer activities that encourage that action e.g. going through a tunnel or crawling into and through a den etc.
