Because I said yes and then realised I had tuned her out?

She is 9, lovely, sweet and not a piss taker. We talk a lot but I do tune a fair bit out, especially since the Apocalypse. I have 6 kids, you kind of have to do this to survive. Its not that I dont care but there really is only so much you can take in!

So today we had a chat and then I was ..... fuck it. I was on MN. And I got the noise but not the words and then she said "Can we do that when lockdown is over?" So I said yes as I couldnt bear to ask her wtf I was agreeing to. And now she is planning "it". Whatever the hell "it" is!

I mentioned it to mum on the phone and she came up with all sorts of ways to find out what it is, but I am thinking we should just do it. A) to assuage my guilt and B) because it could be fun!

I was also thinking that I make her project manager so if its a home based thing she gives me a shopping list and if its out and about she gives me directions.....

What do we think?

I did agree to a unicorn just after Xmas, thinking I was being clever.....

I said that if she could find a living breathing unicorn, of course we could have one. Smart arse little sod found one of those "cone glued to a pony's head" pony party type websites and asked for that for her birthday party in June. I nearly cried. However.....LOCKDOWN!!!!! Thank you Covid-19

My compromise was the hideously expensive pony with head cone birthday parties. Sadly it was pre lockdown.

I have a 9yr old dd that talks shite, pretty much constantly. Seriously can never be quite, she mutters in her sleep too. Narrates every aspect of life, mum your phones ringing, there's someone at the door, postman's been, the dogs barking, tells you what is happening on a show you are watching together blah blah zzz.... She just can't help herself and Sometimes you just zone out. Its can't always be helped, I've stopped answering "yes" though, my go to response is now "we'll see" or that "Might be possible". Another is write it down darling, you know I forget sometimes! Not brilliant I know but you gotta do what you have to to survive sometimes. For more adventurous ideas, I tell her she has to plan/budget/arrange/pack etc, this usually puts her off Hmm

Oooh Kittens and Puppies are really cute tho!! Don't know where you will get a real Unicorn tbh 😁!! Make a game of writing out a plan for this so you both remember. It an maybe fall off into the bin later on.
