Applied for the perfect job for me that I have tons of experience in, spent all day reworking my cv and writing a cover letter as well as answering the detailed application questions. Submitted it all to indeed to be asked to complete a cognitive assessment. Urghhhh! I can’t do those, picking out what shape comes next things, my brain just doesn’t work that way. Think I got them all wrong so I won’t stand a chance. Is this really the best way to judge if a person can do the job?? Am I just extremely thick. Gutted. 😩

They are just patterns. Take your time and look for the pattern. Do some practice tests until you get used to it.

I really dislike these kind of tests and don't ever feel I have done well but always seem to get by on them. I don't k ow that a lot of them are pass/fail as such but more to assess how you think. Just go with your instincts on the answers. There are probably some practise websites out there. Good luck.

OP I could have written your post! The same thing has happened to me today, although my assessment was around written communication. I applied for what I thought would be the ideal job for me. I put a lot of time and effort into creating my CV and cover letter and am now so dejected as I think I have let myself down massively with the assessment. I don’t know now if will I hear anything more about an interview. They probably think I’m very dense Confused
