To think that The Legend of the Lost Keys is the best Look and Read series

I'm currently showing this to my bubble (Y3 keyworker children) and they are gripped by it! I also love Spywatch. I have seen both series multiple times (along with Captain Crimson) and really enjoy them! 😂

It's years and years since my two were at school so I've no idea what key stage they were at back then but they loved a series of books which I think was called "Tim and the hidden people"?? Are they still used today in schools?

I remember Tim and The Hidden People! I read them at primary school in the 80s. I think there were some ghostly pirates in some of them and lots of jewels, and the Hidden People would always jump out on him at inconvenient times like when the bus has just arrived or something Grin

Most of them are very dated - no mobile phones etc I show my class a sneaky Look and Read when I can, usually once a week so they're not binge watching. I don't think they are generally used in schools now, but most series are on Youtube.

I'm of the Dark Towers/Badger Girl/Geordie Racer/Dragon's Eye generation. Never will modern kids experience gathering on a carpet waiting for the telly to be wheeled in :-)

If it's fantastical or spooky I think kids love them regardless of time period.

Book wise, Tim and the Hidden People, and the pirate books by same author, are
extremely collectible if you look at eBay. DP can't wait to read them with DD.
