I have just noticed that Tesco has now made all their delivery slots one price, all at £4.50.
Does anyone else think this is taking the Mickey?

My week day slots are all £4.50 now. Weekends between £4.50 and £7

Delivery saver pass so no change to me

Jellykat · 11/07/2020 22:23

Yet again, no slots here whatseoever,.. tourist season kicking in ffs..

Starbuggy · 11/07/2020 22:24

Changing demand, I’m surprised they didn’t do it back in March tbh

The less desirable slots were cheaper, but as more people want deliveries they’re no longer undesirable slots.

If Tesco can’t sell the formerly cheap slots at the new price then they will most likely reverse the change. But if they can sell them it shows the demand is there even at the higher price. They’re not a public service, they exist to make money.

Just had a look from 3rd August all deliveries are £4.50

netflixismysidehustle · 12/07/2020 01:37

Mine are all £4.50 from 3rd August too. I think the people who used to pay for the £5+ slots will be happy.

MamaGothel · 12/07/2020 02:59

I've just had a look and our prices are from.£3-7 over the next week. First time I've seen delivery slots in ages.

Vivana · 12/07/2020 05:56

The cost of the picker the loader and the driver would cost more than £4.50 plus the petrol. It's a good price

rosesinmygarden · 12/07/2020 06:43

On my app all slots are now £5.50. I wonder if it differs between areas. We are about 30/40 minutes from the dark store so maybe people who live closer get cheaper delivery.

I pay £7 a month for delivery saver though so it doesn't really affect me.

Pixxie7 · 12/07/2020 07:14

They will probably have to put the delivery saver up as well.

There are still no slots at all here, but I'd happily pay £4.50. I went on the bus it would cost more than that and I'd have to spend time going round the shop, not to mention drag it all home.

Marmalady75 · 12/07/2020 07:33

I have a delivery pass from Asda at £5 a month and I can have as many deliveries as I like as long as they are over £49 or pay a £3 supplement for £25-40. I can book the slots that other people pay more for One slot than I do for a month. I’ve had it for years and it’s a bargain!

flowerycurtain · 12/07/2020 07:38

I had an email stating they were changing it to a flat rate to even out demand and also make it fairer.

I've been a delivery saver customer for years. Over lockdown struggled to get a delivery but they've got on top of it now and I could have a delivery tomorrow if I wanted.

I've been v impressed with Tesco to be fair.

SteelyPanther · 12/07/2020 07:59

There are loads of slots available where I live. I can’t understand what’s happened. Are people suddenly going shopping themselves ?
And it’s nice to see that it’s up to 95 items now.

netflixismysidehustle · 12/07/2020 11:16

I've noticed that the one delivery a week rule has been lifted too. I have a delivery every Friday but can book other slots in between too.

Redglitter · 18/07/2020 17:11

Probably some are but I know the Tesco store my orders come from are now have 6 more vans than they used to

NervousInYorkshire · 18/07/2020 17:16

Yep, all now £4.50 - same for shielding priority slots, which are eight or so hours (you get a message narrowing it down to the hour on the day) and have been £2 up to now.
That plus a £4 charge for a basket under £40 makes my single person top up shops a lot more expensive...

Asda are delivering this Wednesday 1-2PM for £1.50 totally misses point of thread

Tesco have been neigh on impossible during covid, and even now, I can only see slots in the 4th week in the 4-week planner. I've been a delivery saver customer for years.

Asda on the other hand, I've managed to get a delivery every single week during covid and I'm a new customer of theirs.

Supermarkets don't know loyalty.

Redglitter · 20/07/2020 15:08

availability seems to depend very much where you are. My Tesco app has slots available every day from tomorrow to Aug 16th

Mustbetimeforachange · 20/07/2020 15:14

It's a big rise for the priority slots from £1 to £4.50, and still an 8 hour time window.
