Posting here for traffic. Any admins back in their office yet? If not, do you have date set to return ? Thanks

I'm University admin and we're all WFH until the start of semester 2 so early January. The only people allowed on campus at the moment are Domestic staff, Porters and the odd person going to collect their office equipment, etc.

Students are pretty much online for semester 1 with small groups of face to face teaching if possible. It's all a nightmare, I can't believe I'm stuck WFH for another 6 months... 😣

No official date to return to the office, won't be till September at very earliest and after that will most likely be very reduced with most people continuing to work many more days at home long term.

But we are and always have been fully up and running around home. We got Teams about 9 months ago thank goodness!

Nope. Maybe sometime in the autumn...

January at the earliest, and even then it will probably be a day or two of hot desking, then WFH the rest of the time. Don't think we're likely to return to full time office life

We've been told January at the earliest. Hopefully it will still be possible to wfh after that too, I much prefer it and am more productive.

Humptydumpty85 · 08/07/2020 18:53

We've been told probably 12-18 months (to be reviewed in 6 months time)

I’m professional services at a large central London university and we’ve been told January at the earliest. Research and teaching activities take priority, so they may need to use our office space.

Because DH is working from home and I need to see an end to it tbh.

Sorry, but that's unlikely to be anytime soon. And based on my experience even if his office opens up it's unlikely he'll ever be back in the office full-time. We are working on having 100% of staff doing some form of blended WFH and office time permanently.

Suggested that it will be January at the earliest for professional services. However, We’ve been told there’s likely to be redundancies etc so realistically a significant number of us won’t be returning.

Academic and technical staff are trickling back in though and space is being prioritised for them and students.
