In Catalunya (which includes Barcelona, Salou, Lloret del Mar) then as of tomorrow July 9th everyone is legally obliged to wear a mask in all public spaces. Everywhere. Not just inside shops etc.... Including walking in the street outside. This applies to everyone over the age of 6 years old.

If not, you will be fined 100 euros.

Please, please respect this rule if you are planning to come here.

Thank you.

Brits should t be let in at all, not with our deaths per population from Covid. Not sure what the Spanish government is thinking. Sure the mask will stop coughing germs but not if someone has it on their hands already then bobs out to the shops, buses, cafe wherever.

I agree to be honest, @orangesandapplesandpearsohmy.
It's pretty horrible for us seeing groups of maskless tourists on walking/bike tours blocking our streets. I literally had to take a detour to get home because there was a group blocking the street by my house and impossible to get past.

And people are in "holiday mode" and feel entitled to enjoy themselves, I get it, but they are breaking local rules a lot and it's terrible.

We weren't locked in our apartments for 2 months only to have all our hard work undone.

But since people are coming.... Please please please follow the mask rule. Please.

Now also in the Balearic Islands. Expected to come into force on Friday. Same rules as detailed above in Catalunya.

Well I wish our government (I’m in Ireland) besides just advising against holidays in other countries would just stop them. People are so incredibly stupid. They won’t quarantine either when they go to other countries or when they return.

I’m hoping our usually bad summer weather will deter people from coming here. It’s bad enough having idiots from Dublin travelling to other parts of the country and being surprised that social distancing, sanitising, masks are expected. No wonder they have almost 50% of the cases of the country in Dublin. How people can go on holiday to Spain, knowing how serious things were there, and not comply with local guidelines beats me. They shouldn’t be going on holiday there at all, in my opinion. Was nothing learned from the case of the two women who caused New Zealand to have to have new cases of Covid-19 as a result of their failure to quarantine when they flew there?

It wouldn’t be too much of a hardship for everyone to holiday in their own countries this summer...
