O. M. G.

Please help me to feel better.

I HATE Facebook! I haven't actively used Facebook for years, but have the Messenger App as I sometimes get the odd message...

Anyway, for some reason,I decided to open the Messenger App and clicked on a conversation from my ex. We haven't spoken for about two years. Then, somehow I managed to accidentally send a thumbs up! I then panicked and then somehow changed the conversation colour?!!! Which came up as 'blanche has changed the conversation colour' and I was then like 'ABORT! ABORT! ABORT!' and then....god knows how....I managed to create a group with him and my other ex!

Oh the shame. I immediately left the group, but now,as I've left it...i seemingly can't get back in to delete it? So they're know in this sad little group together? Wondering why on earth I've suddenly randomly created this group and then left it!

Bloody hell

OH god that has given me a proper laugh, I am so sorry but so funny!

SconesJamthenCream · 08/07/2020 13:00

It makes me feel better as that's just the sort of thing I would do! Grin

CalmdownJanet · 08/07/2020 13:02

They are in this sad little group together made me laugh out loud 😂

Progress2019 · 08/07/2020 13:03

This is my favourite ever post.

Queenoftheashes · 08/07/2020 13:04

What I would do is spend a good day posting links to big sunglasses sales which is what seems to happen when people get hacked.
Then a sorry my fb was hacked status the next day.

Enko · 08/07/2020 13:04

OMG Im laughing so hard GrinGrinGrin

redbushtea · 08/07/2020 13:05

Don't worry OP. Its not a big deal really.

This trouble with Facebook is that there are so many things all over the page that you can accidentally click.

Redcrayons · 08/07/2020 13:06

Grin that’s so funny. Can’t you delete the group like whatsapp?

I once saw my friend comment on a topless gym photo of one of their friends. I barely know him. Not only did I ❤️ The photo, I also clicked through to the gym he’d checked into and liked the post there too, approximately 11 seconds after he posted. I unliked it quickly, so in my mind he never saw it. Otherwise I’m some random creepy old lady perving and FB stalking topless young men.

Anxietyqueen1987 · 08/07/2020 13:06

Block them, that's what would do GrinWine

Scruffyoak · 08/07/2020 13:06

I've done it before. Just block them both.

MyBingaling · 08/07/2020 13:08

@CornishTiger

Oh OP whilst everyone is finding it funny and trying to get you to see it as light hearted I sense you are feeling really crap about it.

Personally I’d set up a new group. Apologise for accidentally setting up the original group. State something like technology was never my strongest point, brief explaination you were deleting old messages And somehow added another.

Tell them obviously feel free to delete both conversations and that you wish them both well.

No! No, no, no.

Never apologise, never explain. Don’t keep digging when you’re in a hole etc etc

pictish · 08/07/2020 13:08

I am so sorry OP but I laughed long and loud at this. 😂😂
Oooh gooodddd...

I agree blame the kid. That’s perfectly feasible.
Thank god for toddlers.

MrBennsshop · 08/07/2020 13:09

Hahaha. I'm forever doing that bloody thumbs up thing by mistake and have even sent the crying with laughter emoji when people have sent sad messages.

DH's XW (divorced over 20 years ago and she still loathes him Grin ) added him as a friend on FB. She'd obviously been FB stalking and did it by mistake.

pictish · 08/07/2020 13:12

Hi ex
Sorry about that group. Kid obviously tapped on something or other.
Please delete.
Blanche

It’s fine.

Starlightstarbright1 · 08/07/2020 13:14

🤣🤣🤣🤣. I have had to leave the room due to sleeping children , I am laughing so much .

No real advice but you are well overdue a fb clear out

OldLace · 08/07/2020 13:14

I got such a bollocking from a friend for 'phoning him at 2am' once.

I'd left my phone on overnight on the bed next to me (fell asleep) and must have rolled onto / leaned on it. (I'd been nosing on his Messenger just before I fell asleep) Don't think he believed me.

This is JUST the sort of thing I manage, every month probably!
Sorry, OP, but you have just cheered me up :)

blanche85 · 08/07/2020 13:15

@DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult

Or you could post up on facebook "sorry for all the random messages, friend requests and posts everyone, problem solved now", either leave it open for all to comment on or just make it so those 2 can see it.
Good idea in theory, but I'm no longer Facebook friends with them...just have their old messenger conversations. And there's no way I'm sending them friend requests...

I just hope they've both left the group. Or maybe it's worse if one is left in there? No,that's definitely not worse.

They know I created the group...I left pretty damn quickly. I definitely should've stayed and swiftly removed them or something, but I just wanted out.

Just want this sicky feeling to go away

😂

That bloody thumbs up gets me on messenger all the time.

My dog knocked my phone out of my hand and then sat on it and created a group with a random I bought a festival ticket from about 5 years ago. I also panicked and left the group.

vampirethriller · 08/07/2020 13:20

My dad did the same and accidentally sent a random photo of his partner's old top meant for eBay to me and the man who does his garden.
This morning I pressed voice record on WhatsApp with my left boob and sent my brother two minutes of me swearing at the dog.

LadyCatStark · 08/07/2020 13:20

How???

LadyCatStark · 08/07/2020 13:20

Also, if they ask, claim you were hacked.

Enterthedragons · 08/07/2020 13:21

Oh OP! This has just made me cry hysterically with laughter! Thank you so much I really needed that!

In the grand scheme of things it doesn’t matter one jot, so don’t you worry.

Candyflosscookie · 08/07/2020 13:21

Maybe they'll think you were setting up a group to arrange a threesome and chickened out. Look out for an exciting invitation "coming" your way soon OP! Grin

HansBanans · 08/07/2020 13:23

Oh dear god, I'd be mortified OP. Hopefully you can look back on this in a couple of days and laugh 😂
