Anyone who has walked away from a long term relationship when did you decide it was done? Feeling really low and annoyed at myself for giving up. But you can't spend your life miserable. How did you come back from it?

I 'came back' from mine quite remarkably quickly.

Amazing how easy it is to rebalance and find joy again once you're out of a shitty situation.

If someone had told me that before I left, I absolutely wouldn't have believed them, though, so I'm not sure how helpful this will be to you right now Smile

Got out of a relationship I’d been in from the age of 16-40 about 7 years ago. Already ended in my mind so pleased to physically separate. Time makes everything easier, and making an effort to think about what you want in life, fitness, hobbies etc. A common saying with a few similar minded friends is wondering why the heck we waited for so long to end it! Best life ever now!

Thanks for you're replies.. Positive outcomes which is nice to hear! It's hard getting used to the new normal I suppose but good can come from it.

I spent about a year debating in my head whether to leave. I still wasn't sure I was doing the right thing when I told him I was leaving. The break up itself was hideous.
I walked out with no money, a single bag of my stuff as it was all I could carry, with no where to go. And I have never felt so happy or relieved.
