Male approaches on MN?

Hi everyone, I posted something on here last week about being in an unhappy marriage. Under a different name. Since then I’ve had several DMs from different men who have used this place as basically a pick up place. One in particular got very saucy straight away.

AIBU to think that this was a safe place to post and not expect to be hit on?

Or am I just being a prude. I feel like they could be using people’s vulnerability as a way in.

Has anyone else had this experience?

Eurgh gosh. How gross!!! Sorry that has happened to you OP.

vodkaredbullgirl · 07/07/2020 12:59

Did you report them?

CuriousaboutSamphire · 07/07/2020 12:59

Report them to MNHQ and tell them to fuck off! The men that is, not MNHQ!!

Un-bloody- believeable though! What makes them think that would work!?!?! Or is it their imaginations... thinking of you reading their lovely messages?

Blech!

No, it's 'not in the spirit of Mumsnet' at all. If you wanted approaches from men, you'd join a dating site. I hope you reported the PMs.

Definitely report them to MNHQ as thats not ok. This isn't a dating site and it's creepy to use your vulnerability to send inappropriate messages. I hope they ban them

Definitely report them!
