To be fed up of waiting for post to be delivered?

I understand that the Royal Mail are short staffed at the moment and far more online orders are being made, but I'm so fed up of waiting ages for parcels to arrive and foi some to go missing. Hermes, Amazon and Royal Mail 48 hour tracked have been great, but the regular Royal MaIl service has been terrible. I'm waiting for five parcels. Two have been agreed by the sender that they have been lost and the other three were due over a week ago.

Anyone else waiting for parcels to arrive? Some things were posted on 17th June and the tracking doesn't even work.

I've noticed literally no difference with the Royal Mail's service. Are you sure that the sender hasn't been delayed?

patas · 11/07/2020 17:32

My post seems to be back to normal now.

Swirlyceiling · 11/07/2020 17:33

My post comes at random times of day (4pm, 2pm, 9am with no real structure) but I haven't had huge delays at the fault of RM

Housewife2010 · 11/07/2020 17:48

We are getting letters although some are delayed but small Royal Mail parcels just aren't arriving. One was ordered on 17th June. All the tracking says is that it will be updated when a delivery is updated. Some parcels are from a beauty box site. I can see on FB that other customers have received their items over a week ago. We haven't had a parcel delivery in over a week. Even my magazine subscription is over a week late. Now one of my orders has been resent ( the resend hasn't arrived) and two others have been refunded.

East West Post seems a bit bonkers. Certainly stuff between Norfolk and the South West is taking ages.

romany4 · 11/07/2020 17:50

I've had 2 birthday cards sent first class. Both took 9 days to arrive. EBay seller sent an item to me on July 4th. First class parcel. I'm still waiting.

vanillandhoney · 11/07/2020 18:39

No issues here. Everything is arriving on time - both parcels and letters.

Plancina · 11/07/2020 18:48

I sent out 20 invitations with first class stamps on - they took 12 days to arrive. It’s not really on, there’s no excuse for it now everything is opening up again.

TokyoSushi · 11/07/2020 18:49

Ours is rubbish, takes days to arrive and postman often comes around 6pm

FourEyesGood · 11/07/2020 19:11

Ours doesn’t seem to have been affected at all.

Housewife2010 · 20/07/2020 17:54

I'm getting so fed up. We're waiting for ten parcels now dating from mid June. I've ring the RM, tweeted them, run after postmen, but still no parcels. Eventually I'll have to ask for refunds from the companies who sent them all. The companies will claim the money back from the RM so this mess will cost them a lot.

I sympathise.

I am an online retailer - I use Royal Mail, and have so many delays and non arrivals at the moment. It s frustrating for vendors too.
I refund or send a replacement, but the problems are widespread.

BlessYourCottonSocks · 20/07/2020 18:02

I've waited in all day for a very expensive item which was due to be delivered "ON OR BEFORE MONDAY 20th". We paid extra for this.

I've tracked it with Royal Mail and it is apparently 'sorted' in their central hub. Still to go is 'at their local delivery office'...'out for delivery'...and 'actually delivered'.

Presumably it is currently miles away from us and I don't know what to do. I can't keep taking time off to wait in for it.

They are hopeless.

GreyGardens88 · 20/07/2020 18:05

Not a service fit for purpose anymore. Even before Coronavirus letters were taking a week to reach me from the North down to London and that was First Class

AnnaSW1 · 20/07/2020 18:31

I've received a really good service from Royal Mail throughout. Not a single delay.

Strongswans · 20/07/2020 18:47

It's pretty poor to be honest. Sent a normal letter sized birthday card with a 1st class large letter stamp (only one I had), Gloucestershire to Essex, took 10 days. A card I sent that way in November turned up on time but literally shedded with foot marks on it.

onlinelinda · 21/07/2020 08:28

I sent a parcel in late June by Royal Mail, which never arrived. Sent by proof of postage.

cologne4711 · 21/07/2020 08:52

My post has been pretty good. Occasionally it's obvious that they haven't sent anyone up my road as I receive nothing and don't see them at other houses, and then receive a pile of mail the next day, but generally if I've been waiting for something it has arrived within the period I would reasonably expect.

Housewife2010 · 21/07/2020 15:34

After chasing my postman down the road yesterday, he turned up with two of my ten parcels today. I was very grateful. He had had to search for them for me through a stack of overdue parcels. One was sent by second class recorded on 5th July. The second was posted on 24th June.
