Amazon digital charge - anyone know what this is or could be?

Posting for traffic -

Have just checked my credit card and I have been charged £40 by amazon digital. I have no idea what this is or what it could be for. It doesn't list anything on the reference either which isn't helpful. I've bought things from amazon recently but used my debit card for that and I've just checked and the money has definitely been taken out of my account for those orders. Also checked my order history on amazon and there's nothing new on there. I do have amazon prime but that bill has already been paid this morning again from my debit account. Obviously I will give the bank a ring in the morning but does anyone know what this could be?

My friend recently bought me a new amazon stick and had Kodi (or whatever it is) installed on it so I wasn't sure if it could be that? However it does specifically say "amazon" on the bank statement so I'm not sure.

Thank you Grin

It's probably a game download or something. Do you have anyone who plays a games console in the house?

Have you got a Kindle, or bought movies or games? If you have a Firestick, have you watched stuff that needs paying for? We have a Firestick, and are careful that we only watch the free content.

Thanks @Justanotherlurker Smile I did search online and found the same page as you. It gave me the option to look at my activity but nothing showed up on there. I just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced the same issue. I'll try and give amazon and the bank a ring in the morning. Very strange!

Nope! I don't have a kindle and I haven't watched a film on amazon prime in a while. The last movie I paid for on there does show on my orders. There's nobody who plays games either. The only thing I can think of (possibly) is that my mum was recently gifted an amazon echo and because she doesn't have an amazon account I told her she could use my account to play music (although I don't pay for the music subscription, I think there's a number of free songs on there). Maybe she has played some songs that weren't free and didn't realise? Just guessing here!

To late to text her now and ask. Will have to wait until the morning...
