I'm upset we can't get the cat I wanted

Hello,

I just need somewhere to vent really, at the beginning of April my darling 13 year old cat was put to sleep due to health issues. I was scrolling on Facebook and saw some British short haired kittens being sold for £550 which for those kittens is really cheap - I know the whole adopt don't shop but all my current animals are rescued and I've always wanted this breed ever since I was little so I put the £150 deposit down and was due to collect him next Saturday - my husband lost his job today so I had to cancel collecting the kitten as £400 is a lot of money when you've been sacked (I work too and it was my money that I've saved but I know it's now for bills etc). I know it's silly but I can't help feeling a bit sad, I've waited 12 weeks to get him and now it's not happening :( - it's no ones fault but I can't help but feel disappointed 😔

Oh, I'm so sad for you too! That's pretty heartbreaking. Another helping of crap on top of yet another load of excrement. They're beautiful cats, too.

Vent away, OP. Sorry to hear about your 13 year old cat. Life can be hard sometimes. Ignore anyone who comes along to remind you something worse happened to someone somewhere else and then Monty Python's Yorkshireman join in.

I hope things pick up and you get your kitten soon.

I would be really sad about that too. Can you have a chat with the breeder, see if you can transfer the deposit to a future litter when you're in less of a tight spot?

You can have one of my cats to tide you over if you would like OP? They are all absolute arseholes of the highest magnitude 😂

I’m so sorry for the loss of your cat and your situation. It’s prohibited to promote the sale of animals on Facebook so you shouldn’t be buying from a breeder on there at all and a reputable breeder shouldn’t be selling on there.

@Kelcat9494
Flowers

Try a local rescue - they have loads of kittens in the summer who are desperate for a loving home.
They're normally checked over by a vet, had 1st jabs, wormed and flea treated (and some are "sorted" so you don't need to get them "done" iyswim).
Good luck.
A house is not a home without a Cat 😺
