So yesterday, the radio news was talking about the footballer who was rejected from the England team in the 1920s because he was black. So my DC6 goes "who are black people?"I explained it was just a description of the colour of people's skin, and makes no difference at all. "You know, your friend A has dark skin, right?" "Yes, but her and all the other kids with dark skin aren't in my bubble. They were my friends and I can't talk to them".
So when I got home, I went through the 15 kids I know are in his bubble. And they are all white. This morning I watched the other parents and which classes they were all going to, and indeed the school seems to have selected the bubbles by skin colour. What rational reason could there possibly be for this?? Should we ask? He's a bit upset about not seeing his Indian friends, and all I can think is it's some attempt to keep groups that socialise outside school together.
