To find cbeebies presenters singing cringy

Just sat down for the post lunch quiet time, as we call it in this house. There is always some kind of song they sing, now they used to be really good fun, like the shapes band one, that was so cool.

Now it seems they are in some kind of x factor audition and I find my self cringing when hearing them belt out there latest masterpiece. They can hold a note to be fair but come on your audience is preschool not Simon Cowell.

AIBU?

I need to get out more ......

YABU because my toddler loves when they sing and honestly sometimes it’s the only time she pays attention to the TV and gives me a few seconds rest 😂😂

IShitGlitter · 30/06/2020 19:38

I can't be the only one surely

Speaking for myself, I never sat down and watched CBeebies. I had it on to keep my DDs quiet when they were toddlers, or to persuade them to sit on the potty. I never actually liked it. I'm just glad that my DDs (now 11 and 9) no longer have any interest.

Mittens030869 · 30/06/2020 19:47

(Although sometimes I had the chance for a little more snoozing when my DDs woke up too early! Grin

PlaygroundReviews · 30/06/2020 19:48

Yabu for the same reason as @Isitbedtimeyet4 it's aimed at young children. If they like it, I'm happy

Lowhangingfruit · 30/06/2020 19:56

Ha ha was it the lady with the ukele today? That was pretty painful. 🤣

JanewaysBun · 30/06/2020 19:58

Yes! I've seen a thread on this before I'd seen it and though the OP meant like on milkshake where they sing a silly song about the beach or whatever.

This is .... too much. Both toddler and baby are confused by the full on performance, I cringe for the presenters ... Please let's just go back to nursery rhymes!

IShitGlitter · 30/06/2020 20:25

It's the one with katy and evie both singing

Unless it's Andy and the Number Rap, it's a no.

I'm still traumatised from Pui and Chris with the eyebrows and mine are all teenagers Grin

Sparklesocks · 30/06/2020 20:28

Fortunately you are not their target audience Grin

TeddyBeans · 30/06/2020 20:28

Was it the rainbow one? (The days have all blurred into one now) the rainbow one bugs me no end. I also can't stand Evie's letter sounds thing with dodge. Say YOUR TURN ONE MORE TIME 😤😤😤

user1497207191 · 30/06/2020 20:29

I can't understand why the Beeb employ people who can't sing for programs that involve singing. Surely there are loads of people who can sing who'd love a TV presenter's job? I wonder if it's the same old nepotism and/or box ticking? There was a singing program a few years ago that was all about singing - a male and female presenter - the bloke could sing, so that was ok, but the woman was clearly tone-deaf so there was always backing singers supporting whenever she had to sing - it was pretty pathetic really.

ShadowCat17 · 30/06/2020 20:33

Nope you’re not the only one. Feel mean for saying it, but there’s a couple of karajoke queens there. They don’t irritate me half as much as Ben though. He just seems a bit sarky and like he thinks the whole thing is beneath him and doesn’t want to be there. Can’t say as I blame him mind.

QuizzlyBear · 30/06/2020 20:33

When I saw Mr Tumble for the first few times (months!) I thought 'how great that the BBC are hiring diversely!' I thought he had substantial learning difficulties 😳

Kids tv is painful to watch. Though Fineas & Fern were (and probably still are) AMAZING.

iamtheoneandonlyyy · 30/06/2020 21:19

I love all of these people. And Ben is lovely! Lol

LoseLooseLucy · 30/06/2020 21:24

I love Ben 😬 Granted he does always look like he's cringing his arse off though 😂

DressingGownofDoom · 30/06/2020 21:31

Haha I cringed at Katy and her ukulele today too

Lowhangingfruit · 30/06/2020 21:31

I think Andy is really lush, my crush 🤣🥰

Mummydaydreams · 30/06/2020 21:33

Haha another Ben lover hereWink. Find it really embarrassing when any of them sing a terrible song sincerely and as if they are in an audition. Like Katie on the Ukulele though and personally Evie has clarified some phonics confusion for me!

Killerqueen2244 · 30/06/2020 21:41

I don’t know why they’re giving Evie so much air time recently, Cat is the best singer by far!

IShitGlitter · 30/06/2020 22:21

Evie makes me cringe most Blush

Unless it's the Christmas show I don't think their singing matters
Kids care about enthusiasm more than talent. Yes they could hire by singing talent but would they bounce around like idiots singing songs dressed as a square?

Caterinaballerina · 30/06/2020 22:33

All the CBeebies presenters and their songs are amazing compared to the low rent milkshake lot, I truly cringe for them!

StillCounting123 · 30/06/2020 22:40

Yes! Cringe! I have a secret crush on Nigel from The Baby Club, but the rest of them - especially Katy (!!!!) are just cringe.

ChewChewIsMySpiritAnimal · 30/06/2020 22:45

It's not actually aimed at you though.
