I get irrationally irate at posters who choose a vague, misleading or unrelated title to their threads.

I can and do move on without pulling them up on it but I stay annoyed for a good 10 seconds, which is riddiculous because really, it's not a big deal! 😂

It's not even necessarily click-baity. Sometimes, it's just so stupidly irrelevant - or the least of the least of OP's problems as it later transpires.

A faux example please OpGrin

There was a great one yesterday where the title was something like ‘AIBU to not let this go?’ (Suggesting a minor inconvenience at worst) and then the content of the thread was ‘my husband and the father of my 4 children has impregnated and shacked up with my mum, they want me to get over it so we can be one big happy family, AIBU to still be annoyed?’

Marthas, I'll have a think Grin

Clueless, yes exactly! Thank you WinkGrin

I saw that one

Didn't last long Grin

The ones that annoy me are those where they simply put 'AIBU' for a title, or 'Advice Please'. I'd like a little teaser as to what the thread is even about before clicking on it.

FridayNightAtTheBronze · 30/06/2020 10:11

For me it's the dramatic over the top thread titles where the actual situation is very mundane.

Such as:

AIBU to be absolutely FUMIMG at DH and considering divorce?

Then the actual post is about him leaving his socks on the floor Grin

FridayNightAtTheBronze · 30/06/2020 10:12

FUMING of course. Or maybe FUMMING.

Disquieted1 · 30/06/2020 10:22

The very worst are the guessing threads.
"I've been asked on a date by a celebrity, AIBU to turn him down? I can't tell you anything about him because it's outing." This is then followed by 20 pages of discussion and you never find out who it is.
Or "I've been offered a job in a different town. What is it like to live there? Unfortunately I can't tell you which town it is as it would be outing."
Aaarrrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh....I swear this makes my blood boil. I start to develop lesions on my frontal lobes and go off to read Catcher in the Rye for the dozenth time.

ThreeCubesBalancing · 30/06/2020 10:26

I like the way the trending section does this by cutting off titles. At the moment we have “To feel kind of low about being paid s...” (sausages? Shillings?) and “should parents with ASD children have...”

Grin at Catcher In The Rye. I think Holden would agree with you on this.
