SomeHalfHumanCreatureThing · 29/06/2020 15:40

No Idea and I'm dreading it.

PumpkinP · 29/06/2020 15:41

No idea, we live near a massive outdoor paddling pool so use to go there a lot but can see it not being open this summer Angry

mumhumdrum · 29/06/2020 15:41

I usually make a plan...one day grandparents, one day holiday play scheme, a one week spurt course but this year I don't even know what to put!

Not really sure yet.

All our normal activities & plans probably can't happen, we'll try for some days on the beach but will go for the not so sunny days & hope the beaches aren't too busy.

Bike rides, walks etc & we might camp in the garden.

No holidays this year :(

HoldMyLobster · 29/06/2020 16:34

No idea, and ours are 12 weeks long and have already started.

mummyof2boys30 · 29/06/2020 16:36

9 weeks here. Today 1st day and I've heard I'm bored about 20 times already. Will be a long long summer. We have 4 nights away at the coast but all other holidays and summer schemes have been cancelled

zafferana · 29/06/2020 16:37

I have no idea. Mine are off for eight weeks and I have absolutely nothing in the calendar this year apart from one week's holiday in the UK (booked pre-Covid) that I'm hoping will be able to go ahead. Usually we'd go and see my parents for a week, kids would both do an activity week, we'd do days out with friends, a couple of activity clubs, pre-season rugby training, but now? I don't know.

Piixxiiee · 29/06/2020 16:40

No idea... not going on holiday and my parents aren't comfortable visiting yet. Usually do play dates, summer club, days out... it's going to be a quiet one. Will meet up with a few friends and children individually, days out walking, bike rides etc. A few wildlife parks open by us. Camping in the garden sounds like a good idea. Roll on summer 2021!

edwinbear · 29/06/2020 16:55

Not a clue. We have 8 weeks, and were supposed to be going to Thailand on Saturday but that's obviously been cancelled. I'm not keen on booking anything abroad as it doesn't look like much fun, wearing face masks everywhere, booking slots in the pool/beach/restaurants.

Possibly a week with the in laws who live in Cornwall but as FIL is shielding, regardless of what happens with that I'm not sure it would be sensible anyway.

Camping.. going for a week holiday and then planning on local camps every weekend. I am really looking forward to it!

SomewhereEast · 29/06/2020 17:41

Weirdly our summer might be almost normalish in that the playgrounds will be back, attractions round us are open or gearing up to & I'm an SAHP so am around anyway. We live in a coastal low density / mildly touristy area so attactions tend to be outdoor & there are miles of coast to fall back in. To be honest there'll be a few playdates too. The biggest loss will be that we usually go overseas & we probably won't this year. Thinking of doing a few little mini-breaks within a few hours' drive from home.

Gertie75 · 29/06/2020 17:50

Hopefully spending a lot of it in our caravan, dh is now on a 4 on/4 off shift so I'll book my work on the same days then head to the caravan every week for short breaks.

I'm hoping the national trust reopen fully soon so we can use those too.

TheMammothHunters · 29/06/2020 17:54

Week in Northumberland
Week in Somerset
Otherwise at home- will do a bit of home learning, no more than half an hour a day. He’s having 12 pieces of work set by school and I want to do times tables practice.
Book a NT place every week. Have a play date or two every week.
Hoping forest school might be able to run.
